Brand History

Seiko, a Japanese watchmaking company, was founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori in Tokyo. Originally a jewelry shop, Seiko began producing clocks in 1892 under the name Seikosha, meaning "House of Exquisite Workmanship." The company introduced Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913. Seiko gained international acclaim with innovations such as the Astron, the world’s first quartz watch, in 1969, and the Spring Drive in 1999, blending mechanical and electronic watch technologies.
